OVERVIEW
Programming CO Lines is probably the first thing you will want to do when programming either an existing database or
a new database. You can program the CO lines using either PC-DBA or a DET
IMPORTANT!
If you are programming an existing database using PC-DBA, be sure to upload the
current switch database to your laptop before making any changes.
This way, you
will be working on the customized database and will not have to reprogram all the
custom settings.
If you are programming a brand new database from scratch without using any
templates, you can skip this step.
NOTE
The DX-120 provides you with a shortcut to use when programming CO lines - see
“Shortcuts that Help You Work Faster” on page 29 for more information.
CAUTION
Database changes reside only on your computer. When all changes have been
made to the database, perform a SEND operation (see “Sending Data to the
Switch” on page 19) to download the new database to the DX-120 switch.
BASIC CO LINE PROGRAMMING TASKS
Perform the following tasks for each line:
Assign the CO line to a tenant group (see page 116)
Assign the CO line to a line group (see page 119)
Assign the Day and Evening classification, as well as the Music Source
for this CO line for the CO line (see page 121)
Assign the CO line type (see page 126)
Enable/disable call abandon (see page 129)
Set up privacy for this CO line (see page 131)
Set up the CO ring type (see page 134)
Assign the answer position for Day and Evening modes (see page 136)
Set up Time Switching (see page 140)
Set up Pre-Defined Call Forward for this line (see page 144)
Set up the PBX code and hunt method for line group 1-8 (see page 147)
Set up the alternate CO group (see page 150)
Set up Fax detection (see page 153)
Set up the T1 or ISDN (T1/PRI) Card - optional* (see pages 155 and 164)
Set up the Translation Table - optional* (see page 171)
*If there is no T1 or ISDN (T1/PRI) Card installed, this processes is not necessary.
