Customizing the Numbering Plan via the DET (continued)
Setting Leading 1:
EXAMPLE
If you want all of your extension numbers to begin with 5, enter 5 here. Or, to allow
only extension numbers 590 through 599, enter 59 (assuming a 3-digit length). The
default is 1 for Leading 1 and 2 for Leading 2, therefore, the default extension
numbers include 100 through 299.
From the DB Item Select screen (see steps 1-3 on page 110):
4) Enter 08-09-02-02.
5) Press save to display the Leading:1 (i.e., leading digit) setting for this extension group.
• The default is 1.
6) Press chg until the leading digit you want to use appears.
7) Press save to store the setting.
8) Press next to display the Leading 2 setting (go to step 5 in the next section).
OR
Press the Volume button (up or down) to return to the DB Item Selection screen.
OR
Exit programming (see “Exiting Database Administration” on page 27).
Setting Leading 2:
EXAMPLE
If you want to allow extension numbers 570-579 in addition to extension numbers you
specified in the Leading 1 field, enter 57 here. The default is 1 for Leading 1 and 2 for
Leading 2, therefore, the default extension numbers include 100 through 299.
From the DB Item Select screen (see steps 1-3 on page 110):
4) Enter 08-09-02-03 to display the Leading:2 (i.e., second leading digit) setting for this extension group.
5) Press chg until the leading digit you want to use appears.
6) Press save to store the setting.
7) Press next to display the Leading 2 setting (go to step 5 in the next section).
OR
Press the Volume button (up or down) to return to the DB Item Selection screen.
OR
Exit programming (see “Exiting Database Administration” on page 27).
