2.3.4.1 Badge Tester
Badge Testers are available from Versus Technology. A Badge Tester tests the battery and auxiliary
information from the badge. It will indicate whether the badge is good or if the battery needs to be
replaced. The instructions for using the Badge Tester are as follows:
1. Turn the Badge Tester on.
2. Place the front of the badge you are testing a half inch or closer in front of the test window on the
Badge Tester.
3. The badge condition will be indicated as follows:
• If the badge is good, the tester will beep once, and the green light will illuminate.
• If the battery is low and needs replacing, the tester will beep twice, and the red light
will illuminate.
