2. Plan Your Network and Configure

Wireless Settings

For a wireless connection, your router and computer, smartphone, or tablet will need to have the

same Wi-Fi network name and security settings. Verizon recommends that you use wireless

security.

Your router is preset with security features and uses a unique Wi-Fi network name and

password. This information is printed on the router label and will be used to set up your Wi-Fi

capable computers, smartphones, and tablets.

Note: The wireless range is 300 feet (100 meters), but can be weakened by

walls or other obstructions. We recommend using wireless security to

prevent unauthorized connections to your network.
