Use mounting plate as a template to locate

fastener holes. Center the plate over your mark

using the hole in the mounting plate. Mark 4

corners where fasteners will go (Fig. 5).

Attach base plates on both ends of the post.

Align post with the marks made in step 4. Be

sure that both top and bottom base plates are

properly aligned. This can be done using a level

and straight edge or a plumb bob (Fig. 6 through

Fig. 10).

Fasten post to roof and ground surface using

fasteners. Install the trim rings on both the top and

bottom of the post (Fig. 11).

NOTE: There is a recess in the mounting plate that

will engage the trim ring and hold it at the top of

the post when installed.
