FOR USE AS A PORCH POST
1.
NOTE: When installing as a porch post, two post
mounting kits will be needed – one for each end
of the post.
Measure overall height at desired location for the
porch post, after the roof structure is lowered to
its nal resting position. This will be the nished
length of your post assembly; 9' maximum (Fig. 1).

Trim the post to the desired dimension established
in Step 1, minus 5⁄8" to allow clearance for the
aluminum base plates (Fig. 2).
3.
Mark the center point of the post on the beam or
roof where the post will be installed (Fig. 3).
Hang a plumb bob from the center point, which
you marked on the beam or roof, and locate that
point on the mounting surface below (Fig. 4).
