Installing Bottom Rail 6 a. b. c. d. e. f. g. h. Slide rail bracket cover onto ends of railing. Place brackets onto both ends of bottom rail (make sure to use brackets without side holes) Slide bottom rail in between posts and rest on top of wood spacer blocks Using 5/32" drill bit, pre-drill first bottom bracket screw hole. On angle, drill through bracket hole, vinyl post jacket and vinyl insert.
For Vinyl Stair Rail Installation: Post Installation 1 Closely follow post installation instructions (or sleeve existing wood 4x4) Determine Spacing 2 Temporarily secure a deck board (5/4") to your stair treads to determine the spacing between the nose of the stairs and your bottom rail Temporary deck board Assemble your stair railing section 3 a. Lock tabs on baluster/spindle must face outer edge of routed holes in rails b.
Locking The Angle 7 With an 1/8" drill bit pre-drill marked hole on angle bracket and lock angle in place with supplied #10 x 3/4" screw Cutting Rails 8 Remove stair railing section from clamped posts Locate your previous marked lines on your stair railing sections and add 1" to your pre-determined lengths for bracket depth and cut all four marks with a hacksaw at 90 Add 1" degrees Note – you will have to cut through an aluminum insert in the top rail Installing Brackets 9 Note – There is a separ
Railing to Posts 10 a. Slide stair railing section with brackets back in-between posts b. Add #10 x 11⁄4" mounting screws to brackets to secure stair railing section to posts Pre-Drilling 11 Pre-drill each side of the top rail brackets using the screw holes provided with a 5/32" drill bit. Use provided #10 x 1" screws to secure top rails to brackets.
