• Mark off the fence location using string and
line stakes. Plan gate placement, opening and
hardware clearance before installing fencing.
• Starting with a corner or end post, dig holes
10" in diameter and at least 36" deep.
To establish correct depth, determine local
frost line depth and add 6" for gravel.
• Set posts at appropriate distance for panel
and post sizes, measuring from the centers
of the posts. It is recommended that you do not
dig more than one hole ahead until you
are condent in your spacing.
• Mix the concrete on the dry side to allow the
posts to set faster. Fill bottom of holes with 6”
of gravel and place post on top. Fill rst hole to
the top with concrete. Ensure the rail is plumb
and level. Let concrete set, making sure panel
will be 2" above ground. Do not add concrete
to second hole until later.
• You will not install all posts at the beginning.
Installation should alternate post, then panel,
then post. Have the next post hole in the run
dug and lled with gravel before installing the
panel to make the job easier.
• If your style includes an aluminum rail insert,
place it in the bottom rail then insert the bottom
rail into the bottom post route hole of the rst
post only. Panels with 7" rails do not require
aluminum inserts.
• Next, attach u-channels to two of the boards.
• Insert the boards into the bottom rail ensuring
the two boards with u-channels are located
on each end, channels facing outward.
• For full privacy panels, insert the top rail
into the top post route hole of the rst post,
then guide over tops of boards. For other
styles, there will be a few additional steps to
install lattice top or open or closed picket top
fences.
• Insert the completed fence panel into the
route holes of the second fence post. Plumb
and level the post and add concrete to the
top of the hole.
• Measure the distance for the next panel,
beginning at the center of the second post
and ending at the center of the next post.
Dig the hole for the third post. Repeat steps
until completed.
• To Attach post caps, apply glue
on inside rim, position on posts
and apply pressure.
