The Vinyl Fence Rail Notcher makes raised tabs in the end section of vinyl rails. The louver-shaped tabs
create a durable "lock" that prevents the rail from pulling out of the post. The 6x8 Professional Grade
Fence Panel comes with the ends of the rails already notched. However, if you need to cut down the fence
section to make it shorter you will need to put new tabs in the rails to lock it into the post. You can create
the lock tabs while the panel is pre-assembled; you do not need to take the rails off the panel.
Below is how you use the notcher.
Place the notcher with the striker plate inside the rail.
The rail should be inserted all the way into the
notcher.
Squeeze the handle fi rmly and with even pressure
to create tab.
Repeat this process so you have three lock tabs per
rail side (total of 6 on each rail). Your cut-down
panel is now ready to be installed into your posts.
