Creating OpenWorks WGS84 Shapefiles in Batch
WOW interactively produces WGS84 geographic shapefiles of wells, position logs, 2D
lines and 3D surveys from the OpenWorks Project Summary page. This process can
optionally be run on the command-line of from a graphical user interface.
Important note: this module converts project X/Y coordinates into lat/long using the
WGS84 geodetic datum, which may differ from the project geodetic datum.
To execute from a graphical user interface, first source the WebApps environment then
type Ow2shp. Ow2shp may also be launched from the wowgui interface.
prompt> source $OWHOME/WebApps/templates/wow.login
(if C-shell)
prompt> . $OWHOME/WebApps/templates/wow.profile (if Bourne shell)
prompt> Ow2shp
The GUI is illustrated below. Select any project, an output directory and an optional suffix
to help distinguish the output files. By default, all wells, surveys and lines will be included;
specify lists to subset if required. There is also an option to include position logs (no by
default).
To execute on the command-line using ow2shp, first source the WebApps environment,
then type ow2shp to see the usage:
