Structure of Remark Data
For each PIM_SEIS_INFO record associated with a 3D project, three remark records will
be created that are associated with the SEISMIC_DATA_SET instance in OW. A
SEISMIC_DATA_SET_REMARK ‘long remark’ of type SW_GENERAL will contain the fields
in the WOW model that don't map to the OW R5000 model directly including the contents
of the remark field. A SEISMIC_DATA_SET_REMARK ‘long remark’ of type
EBCDIC_HDR will contain the EBCDIC header and a SEISMIC_DATA_SET_REMARK of
type BINARY_HDR will contain the Binary header.
For each PIM_SEIS_INFO record associated with a 2D project (one per proclev), three
remark records will be created that are associated with each SEISMIC_DATA_SET
instance in OW with the same proclev. A SEISMIC_DATA_SET_REMARK ‘long remark’ of
type SW_GENERAL will contain the fields in the WOW model that don't map to the OW
R5000 model directly including the contents of the remark field. A
SEISMIC_DATA_SET_REMARK ‘long remark’ of type EBCDIC_HDR will contain the
EBCDIC header and a SEISMIC_DATA_SET_REMARK of type BINARY_HDR will contain
the Binary header.
For each PIM_HRZ_INFO record associated with a 3D project, one
HORIZON_DATA_REMARK of type SW_GENERAL ‘long remark’ will be created that is
associated with the HORIZON_DATA instance in OW. It will contain the fields in the WOW
model that don't map to the OW R5000 model directly including the contents of the
remark field.
For each PIM_HRZ_INFO record associated with a 2D project, one
HORIZON_ATTRIBUTE_REMARK of type SW_GENERAL ‘long remark’ will be created that
is associated with the HORIZON_ATTRIBUTE_HDR instance in OW. It will contain the
fields in the WOW model that don't map to the OW R5000 model directly including the
contents of the remark field.
Viewing Metadata Post-Migration
Attributes are most readily viewed in the Seismic Data Manager. Many attributes are
visible in the tables for seismic and horizons; note however that not all are shown by
default, and it may be necessary to click on the Select columns icon and check additional
required attributes for display.
To view metadata migrated into the ‘long remarks’, select any seismic or horizon row,
right-click to bring up the context menu, then select option View long remarks. This brings
up a new window in which remarks may be viewed edited or deleted.
In addition, long remarks and selected metadata attributes may be viewed in the
SeisWorks Seismic View, menu items Seismic -> Info and Horizon -> Attributes.
