TROUBLESHOOTING INTRODUCTION 0004 00

GENERAL

This chapter contains troubleshooting information for locating and correcting malfunctions that may occur with the

M40A3/A5 Sniper Rifle.

This manual cannot list all of the possible malfunctions, tests or inspections, and corrective actions for the M40A3/A5.

If a malfunction is not listed (except when the malfunction and cause are obvious) or if it is not corrected by the listed action,

evacuate the weapon to the next higher level of maintenance. Table 1, in Troubleshooting Procedures (WP 0006 00), lists pos-

sible malfunctions, tests or inspections, and corrective action for troubleshooting the M40A3/A5 at the Organizational and

Intermediate maintenance level.
