BG-N21 BATTERY GRIP Designed for the Nikon Z 6 and Z 7 Mirrorless Cameras
Thank you for choosing Vello The Vello BG-N21 battery grip offers extended shooting time and comfort when shooting in a vertical (portrait) orientation. The grip is compatible with the Nikon Z 7 and Z 6 mirrorless cameras, and it accepts up to two Nikon EN-EL15a/EN-EL15b rechargeable batteries. You can charge the batteries inside the grip, without removing them, via the included USB-C™ power adapter.
1. The BG-N21 should be used only with the compatible devices specified in this manual. 4. The battery level may not display properly if batteries are installed before mounting the grip. 2. Attaching the Battery Grip 1. Ensure that the camera power is turned off, and the grip’s control lock switch is in the Off position. 2. Re m ove t h e c a m e r a’s battery chamber door. Pull gently at a 45° angle until the door detaches. 6 3. Insert the chamber door into the BG-N21’s camera battery door holder for safekeeping.

Connect the shutter release cable from the 2.5 mm remote cable socket on the grip to the remote port on the camera. Inserting the Batteries 1 2 1. Turn off the c amer a’s power, and make sure the grip’s control lock switch is in the Off position. 2. Press the door latch of battery compartment A or B, and slide the door to the rear of the grip, following the arrows . Open the compartment door. 8 3. Insert the battery until it locks into place.
INTRODUCTION Close the compar tment door, and slide it to the front of the grip until it clicks. 5. Turn on the camera power, and make sure the grip’s control lock switch is in the On position. 9 Note: When removing the grip, turn off the camera’s power and the grip’s control lock switch, and then remove the batteries. Press the door latch of battery compartment A or B, and slide the door to the rear of the grip, following the arrows . Open the compartment door. 10 3. Press compar tment A’s battery latch to the left until the battery slightly pops out. Press compar tment B’s battery latch to the right until the battery slightly pops out.
Press the CHECK button to check the battery’s power. The LEDs will display the status for 3 seconds. Full Medium INTRODUCTION Checking the Batteries’ Power Low In-Grip Battery Charging You can charge the batteries inside the grip, without removing them, using the included 5 V / 2.4 A power adapter. Make sure you turn off the camera to begin charging. Then use the included power adapter to connect the battery grip’s USB-C port to an AC outlet. OVERVIEW Battery needs to recharge.
