The grip is compatible with the Nikon D5500 and D5600 DSLR cameras and accepts up to two Nikon EN-EL14/EL14a rechargeable batteries. It offers an alternate shutter release button that triggers the camera via the included shutter release cable, making the grip ideal for shooting portrait photography.

Attaching the Battery Grip 1. Ensure that the camera power is turned off. 2. Re m ove t h e c a m e r a’s battery chamber door. Pull gently at a 45° angle until the door detaches. 6 3. Slide the chamber door into the BG-N16-2’s camera battery door holder for safekeeping.
INTRODUCTION 5. Rotate the thumbwheel counterclock wise until the grip is secured to the camera. 7 6. Connect the shutter release cable from the 2.5 mm remote cable socket on the grip to the accessory terminal on the camera. Inserting the Batteries 1. Turn off the c amer a’s power, and make sure the grip’s control lock switch is in the Off position. 2. Twist the battery tray’s lock counterclockwise, and remove the battery tray from the grip. 8 3. Nikon EN - EL14/EL14a: Insert the first battery into slot 1 as shown and push down to lock the battery in place. Repeat for slot 2.

IR Remote The IR remote works with the Nikon D5500 and D5600 DSLR cameras and allows you to trigger your camera wirelessly. Make sure the shutter-release cable is plugged into the grip and camera, and that the remote is pointed at the grip’s IR sensor. The IR remote works through line-of-site, so make sure there are no obstacles blocking the signal.
