VMA205 Then, connect the board to your computer and run the Arduino ® IDE. Also, install the ESP8266 package to your Arduino® IDE via https://github.com/esp8266/arduino. Point the Arduino® IDE board manager to a custom URL. Open Arduino®, go to File > Preferences, and paste the following URL into the text box: http://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.json. You can add multiple URLs by clicking the window icon and paste one URL per line. V.
VMA205 Click OK to confirm. Next, go to Tools > Boards > Boards Manager and look for the ESP8266. Click on that entry and install. The board definitions and tools for the ESP8266 include a whole set of gcc, g++ and other reasonably large, compiled binaries so it may take a few minutes to download and install. After installing the ESP8266, run the example code ESP8266_TCP_Server. This example sets the WiFi shield as server and creates a WiFi named VMAWIFI.
VMA205 Compile and upload this code to your Arduino® UNO. Please note during the uploading progress, to turn the switch to “off” and to turn to “on” when the uploading is finished. When it is done, you can open your cell phone WiFi to check if there is a WiFi named “VMAWIFI”. Now, use your notebook to connect your WiFi shield and to receive data. Select “VMAWIFI” and enter the password “123456789”. Run the TCPUDPDbg software. Click “Create Connection”, choose Type “TCP”, IP “192.168.4.1” and Port “333”.
