7.4. Charging the battery B50
The MobileTouch POS system displays the message
“Charge battery!“ on the screen, when the battery B50 is
charged less than ten percent. You should charge the bat-
tery when this message is displayed.
If the battery is charged less than five percent, the opera-
tional status lamp is permanently red. The MobileTouch is
switched to quiescent condition. You can only switch on
again the POS system when the battery is charged more
than five percent.
• Charge the battery B50 as described in chapter
6.2.1 “Inserting and charging B50 batteries in the
MobileTouch charging station” on page 56 or in chap-
ter 6.2.3 “Inserting the MobileTouch POS system to the
charging station and charging a battery B50” on page
62.
i
The charging capacity of the battery
B50 is reduced with each charging cycle
because the battery cells wear out. This
reduces the time during which you can
use the MobileTouch POS system. The
battery has to be charged in shorter
intervals.
i
Always charge and discharge the battery
B50 completely to preserve the charging
capacity for as long as possible.
i
Exchange the battery B50 by a new one,
if the intervals required between charg-
ing become too short
