MicroVAX 3100 Models 88/98 User Information

Removing the Cover

To gain access to the inside of the MicroVAX 3100 Model 88 and Model 98 Systems,

remove the cover following this procedure:

1. Turn off your system, the terminal, and all external peripheral devices.

2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

3. Wait at least 15 seconds, to allow time for the power supply capacitors to discharge

safely.

4. Facing the rear of the unit, locate and loosen the three thumbscrews that fasten the top

cover to the enclosure. Pull back on the cover sides two or three inches, and lift the

cover up and away from the enclosure.
