4TROUBLESHOOTING
This chapter provides solutions for common oversights and issues.
If you cannot find a solution to a problem, call your local VCON service provider.
PROBLEM: The MeetingPoint application fails to open. A message states
that the system cannot initialize.
SOLUTIONS:
1. Check that Plug and Play is enabled in the computer. In the Windows Control
Panel, click System and then Device Manager. Check that the USB Root Hub
is enabled and working in the device.
If not, restart the computer and enable Plug and Play in the BIOS. Consult with
your system administrator.
2. In the Windows Control Panel, click Add New Hardware. Browse for dvs.inf
(for Windows 95/98) or dvs2000.inf (for Windows 2000) on the MeetingPoint
CD-ROM. This file contains MeetingPoint setup information. Click OK to
install.
3. Insert the VCON videoconferencing card in a different PCI slot in your
computer.
PROBLEM: The Local Video window is blank.
SOLUTION:
T Check that the cable is correctly connected between the camera and the VCON
videoconferencing card.
PROBLEM: The Local Video window is black.
SOLUTION:
1. Check that the power switch on the camera is ON.
2. In the Local Video window, click the Select Camera button. Select a
different camera option.
