A KA52/53/54 system also supports other types of external mass storage
devices. See the latest Systems and Options Catalog (SOC) for a listing of
supported external SCSI devices.
Other expansion boxes include the BA350 Series Storage Shelf Subsystems.
Refer to the BA350 Modular Storage Shelf Subsystem Configuration Guide
(EK–BA350-CG) or the StorageWorks ™ Solutions Shelf and SBB User’s Guide
(EK–BA350–UG) for further information.
2.2.3 Guidelines for Mass Storage Expansion
When you are adding mass storage devices, use these guidelines. Also, refer to
documentation for your SCSI expander, if any.
• If using an SZ12 enclosure, you can add a maximum of four external SCSI
devices. A fully configured SZ12 enclosure contains two SCSI devices.
• You can have a maximum of two SCSI tape devices. Depending on the
configuration, the system may support two TLZ04 tape drives.
• The BA40 single drive expansion box contains one SCSI device.
• The RRD42 CDROM drive is a single SCSI device. You can have a
maximum of three RRD42 CDROM drives.
