4 Installing ENVOX Software

This section explains how to install ENVOX

configuration software on a

MicroVAX 3100 computer, a VAXstation 3100, a VAXstation 4000 and

the AlphaStation 200 series. The section also includes information about

recovering from errors and setting up user accounts. See Appendix A for

the meaning of error messages. See Appendix C for log files of a typical

installation. Section 8 provides instructions for backing up the current

system’s disks to tape and restoring the disks from tape.

4.1 New System Installation Method

Before installing ENVOX software for the first time on an OpenVMS

system, ensure that the hardware is properly installed and the system is

operationally tested. Then, follow the installation procedure sequence as

shown in Figure 4-1.
