A.2 SYBASE Error Messages

This subsection contains error messages that can occur during the

installation or upgrade of SYBASE software.

Message sys$manager:inst_file.out does not exist

Description sys$manager:inst_file.out is a temporary file created by the installation

process. Check to see if this file can be created manually.

Message SYBASE install failed on xxxx

Description Determine the installation failure by examining

sys$manager:sybase_envox_inst.log

Message Unable to determine the installation disk

Description Verify that sys$common:[sysmgr]inst_file.out exists

Message The sybase_disk_logicals.com file is missing

Description sybase_disk_logicals.com must exist for a SYBASE upgrade. Verify that

either sys$sysroot:[sysmgr]sybase_disk_logicals.com exists or

sys$common:[sysmgr]sybase_disk_logicals.com exists.

Message The sybase logical, SYBASE_DEVICE is not defined

Description Verify that either sys$sysroot:[sysmgr]sybase_disk_logicals.com exists or

sys$common:[sysmgr]sybase_disk_logicals.com exists.

Message The sybase logical, SYBASE_MASTER_DEVICE is not

defined

Description Verify that either sys$sysroot:[sysmgr]sybase_disk_logicals.com exists or

sys$common:[sysmgr]sybase_disk_logicals.com exists.
