Getting started PLEASE READ ‘LET’S TALK SAFETY’ AT THE BEGINNING BEFORE USE Before you begin cleaning WARNING: Always switch off the vacuum cleaner before connecting or disconnecting the lift out cylinder/ hose/attachments or removing and emptying the dirt container. IMPORTANT: The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a thermal cut-out. If for any reason the vacuum cleaner does overheat the thermostat will automatically turn the vacuum cleaner off.
Using your machine - The full unit Using with the lift out cylinder attached Twist the quick release cord hooks and release the power cord. Plug the vacuum cleaner into the mains and switch on. Hook the cord onto the handle cord hook so that the cord does not get pulled, caught or tangled in the machine during use. Place foot on the floorhead and pull the handle backwards to recline. Press the On/Off button to switch the vacuum cleaner on.
Using your machine - The full unit Using the hose/extension tube/accessories with the lift out cylinder attached Always switch off the vacuum cleaner before connecting or disconnecting the hose/ tools. Hold the lift out cylinder by the carry handle at all times when using the hose and accessories. For easier cleaning detach the lift out cylinder for stair and above floor cleaning. Press the hose end clip and pull to remove the hose from the hose holder. Choose an accessory.
Using your machine Using the hard floor adaptor IMPORTANT: Always check that the adaptor, wheels and brushbar are free from any dirt or debris before use. Do not use the hard floor adaptor if it has become damaged or worn. Remove any sharp objects from the floor that could become trapped and may scratch or damage the surface. The hard floor adaptor should be removed to vacuum carpets. Lie the vacuum cleaner on its back exposing the brushbar.
Using your machine - The lift away Using the hose/extension tube/accessories with the lift out cylinder detached CAUTION: Hold the lift out cylinder by the carry handle at all times when the lift out cylinder is detached for stair and above floor cleaning. Only attach the hose to the vacuum cleaner with the lift out cylinder attached. Press the hose end clip and pull to remove the hose from the hose holder. Hold the carry handle and press the lift out release button.
Taking care of your machine IMPORTANT: The motor is equipped with a thermal cut-out. If for any reason the machine should overheat, the thermostat will automatically turn the machine off. Switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner. Check the machine for blockages and clean the filters . Wash the filters with warm water (40°C max) and leave for 24 hours or until fully dry before replacing into the machine.
Taking care of your machine Cleaning the separator Lift the dirt container lid release clip. In a hinge like manor lift the dirt container lid. Pull the pre-motor filter tab and remove the filter from the dirt container. Lift and remove separator out of dirt container. Using a soft brush remove any dirt/debris from separator. Re fit the separator making sure the semi circular tab on the separator fits into the groove on the dirt container.
Let’s talk technical IMPORTANT: Unplug and switch off vacuum cleaner before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks. If the brushbar has been obstructed, the brush bar motor protection sensor may have been activated. The brushbar will stop and the light on the floorhead will illuminate red. Resetting/removing debris from the brushbar The brushbar indicator light will illuminate red and the brushbar will stop spinning if the brushbar is obstructed.
Let’s talk technical Changing the belt Using a crosshead screwdriver, remove 3 screws from the belt cover on the side of the floorhead. Pull to remove the belt cover. Pull to remove the brushbar location plate. Remove belt. Clean any debris from spindle. Place new belt onto spindle, lining up teeth on the belt over and onto the cog. Pull and remove the hose from the hose holder. Pull and stretch the hose, any blockage in the hose should then be visible.
What to do if it goes wrong Problem There is an accessory missing Why does my vacuum cleaner have no power? Why won’t the vacuum cleaner pick up? Why isn’t my brushbar rotating? Why is there a red light on my floorhead? Why is dust escaping from the vacuum? Solution • Check the ‘This pack contains’ panel on the box to make sure the part is included with your vacuum cleaner. • The plug may not be fully pushed into the electrical socket.
