b. Use one
of
the following commands to select the disk device for testing:
DS>SELECT
DUAO,DJAO
DS>SELECT
DJAO,DJA1
DS>SELECT
DUAO
DS>SELECT
DJAO
c. Remove
TU58
tape cartridge #35 from
TU58
tape drive
O.
d.
Insert the
TU58
tape cartridge #44, labeled VAX
UDA50
SUBSYSTEMS,
into
TU58
tape drive
O.
e.
Use the
RUN
command
to execute the diagnostic program
EVRLA.EXE:
DS>RUN
EVRLA
8.
To further test the IDC or
UDA
disk subsystems, execute the remaining diagnostics on either
of
the tapes labeled VAX
725/730
IDC DIAG (TU58 #39) or VAX
UDA50
SUBSYSTEMS
(TU58
#44) by issuing the
RUN
command followed by the diagnostic name.
NOTE
If
the user is unsure as to what diagnostics to exe-

at
the diagnos-
tic supervisor prompt,
DS>,
to see what diagnostics
are
available on the
TU58
tape cartridges (#39
or
#44). Issue the
HELP
command followed by the
diagnostic name (such as
DS>
HELP
ENRKA) to
see what the diagnostic will
test
and see what prepa-
ration is required to execute
that
diagnostic.
5.4
DIAGNOSTIC
SUPERVISOR
COMMANDS
Commands
for the diagnostic supervisor are obtained by using the
HELP
utility. If the supervisor was
loaded from a disk device, the
HELP
utility
is
invoked by typing the
HELP
command (for example, DS>
HELP). This command used in conjunction with a particular topic (for example,
DS>
HELP
SHOW)
displays general diagnostic environment and supervisor
command
information.
Most diagnostics programs also have
HELP
files to assist
in
their execution. These
HELP
files have the
same filename as the diagnostic program file, but the file extension
is
named
.HLP
(EVKAA.HLP).
Help
files are accessed by typing the
HELP
command followed by the file name (DS>
HELP
EVKAA). Using
this
command
in
conjunction with the diagnostic program name displays diagnostic information specific to
that
diagnostic.
System configuration
is
bypassed to the diagnostic supervisor either with individually typed A
TT
ACH
commands or by executing the autosizer program on the diagnostic distribution disk.
