Interruption of power supply
If the vehicle battery is flat, the selector
lever cannot be moved out of position P
or N.
If the battery is flat, start the vehicle using
jump leads – see page243.
If the battery is not the cause of the fault,
release selector lever:
1.Apply hand brake.
2.Remove the ashtray insert 3 or the
rubber covering on the bottom of the
stowage compa rtm ent 3 - see page 108.

3.To open, push the yellow catch down
with a screwdriver and move the selector
lever out of P or N.
4.Refit the ashtray insert 3 or rubber
covering on the bottom of the stowage
compartment 3 - see page 108.
Re-selecting P or N causes locking again.
Have a workshop eliminate the cause of
the power loss.
