Battery
The b attery is m ainte n anc e-free .
Retro-fitted electric al or electronic
accessories can pla ce an additional loa d
on the b attery or discharge the ba ttery.
Consult a workshop regarding technic al
possibilities, such a s fitting a more powerful
battery.
Laying up the vehicle for more than
6 weeks can lead to battery discharge,
which may reduce the service life of the
battery. Disconnect battery from on-board
power supply by detaching negative
terminal.
The Vauxhall alarm system 3 siren must be
deactivated as follows: switch the ignition
on then off, disconnect the vehicle’s
battery within 15 seconds.
Ensure that ignition is switched off before
connecting the battery. Then perform the
following actions:
z Set date and time in the information
display - see pages 76, 82.
z If necessa ry, activate the electric
windows and sunroof 3 - see pages
28, 30.
In order to prevent the battery from
disch arging, some consu me rs su ch as the
courtesy lights automatically switc h off
after a delay.
Charge a disconnected battery every
6weeks.
9 Wa rning
We recom mend that you ha ve battery
changes carried out by a work shop who
knows the laws concerning the disposal
of used batteries, therefore protecting
the environment and your health.
9 Warnin g
Ensure there is adequate ventilation
when charging the battery. There is a risk
of explosion if gases generated during
charging are allow ed to a ccumulate.
Battery acid is poisonous and corrosive.
Do not allow it to contact ey es, skin,
fabrics or painted surfa ces; direct
contac t may cause injuries and damage.
Avoid dealing with the battery near
na ked flames and a nything that w ould
genera te sparks. No sm oking!
