Check diesel fuel filter at shorter interva ls if
the v ehicle is subjecte d to e xtrem e
operating conditions such as high humidity
(primarily in coastal areas), extrem ely high
or low outside temperatures a nd
sub stantially varying daytim e and night-
time temp eratures.
If there is water in the diesel fuel filter,
control indica tor N illuminates in the
instrument c luster - see page 69. Dra in the
water immediately.
Coo lant
During operation, the system is
pres surize d. The temperature ma y
therefore rise to over 1 0 0 °C.
The an ti-fre ez e provid es ex cellent
corrosion protection for the cooling and
heating system, as well a s freeze
protection down to -28 °C.
Certain types of anti-freez e ca n lead to
engine d amage. We therefore strongly
recommend the use of anti-freeze that has
been approved by Vauxhall.
Anti-freeze and corrosion protection
Before the start of the cold weather season,
ha ve the coolant checked for correc t
concentration by a workshop. The amount
of anti-freeze must provide protection
down to approx. –28 °C. If the anti-freeze
concentration is too low, this reduces
protection from freezing and corrosion.
Top up anti-freeze if necessary.
If coolant loss is topped up with
demineralised water, have anti-freeze
concentration checked and m ore anti-
freeze added as necessary.
C ool ant level
Hardly any losses occur since the c ooling
system is sealed and it is thus rarely
necessary to top up the coolant.
The coolant level in the expansion ta nk
should be b etween the MIN and MAX
marks when the system is cold.
9 Warning
Anti-freeze is a danger to health: it must
therefore be k ept in the original container
and out of the reach of children.
