z After airbags deflate, you may notice a
burning smell, sm oke and white powd er
in the interior, which is normal. Although
they may cause skin or eye irritation,
these substances are non-toxic.
z Hazard w arning lights may flash and
lock ed doors may be unlock ed
automa tic ally when airb ags deploy 3.
z The speeds, directions of movement and
deformation properties of the vehicles,
and the properties of the obstacle
concerned, determine the severity of the
accident and trig gering of the airb ags.
z The degree of damag e to y our v ehicle
and the resulting repa ir costs alone a re
not indicative that the criteria for
triggering of the airbags were met.
z Do not perform any m odifications to the
com ponents of the airbag systems, as
this will render the vehicle unroadworthy.
z We recommend having the steering
wheel, the instrument pane l, all panelling
parts, the door seals, handles and the
front se ats remove d by a works h o p in
the event of airbag deployment.
z When disposing of the vehicle, observe
the applicable sa fety regulations. Tak e
the vehicle to a recycling compa ny for
disposal.
