Wheels, tyres

Changing tyre / wheel type
Note the necessa ry modifications b efore
switching to different tyres or wheels.
If wheel rims of a different type are to be
installed, the wheel nuts ma y also need to
be c hanged. We rec om mend you consult a
Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.
If tyres of a different size to those fitted at
th e fac tory are used (this includes winter
tyres), the electronic speedometer may
possibly need to be reprogram med, to
ensure that the speed displayed is correct.

When using winter tyres, or when switching
to different tyre sizes, sensors for the tyre
pres su re mo n itorin g sy ste m ca n be fitted at
a later date by a work shop, upon request.
Otherwis e, the system would not ind ic ate
tyre p ressure deviations.

Fit ting new ty res
New tyres should be fitted in pairs, or, for
preference, in sets. Make sure that both
tyres on an ax le are:
z the sam e size,
z the sam e design,
z the sam e ma ke,
z and have the same tread pattern.
Fit directional tyres such tha t they roll in the
direction of travel. The rolling direc tion is
indica ted b y a symbol (e.g . an arrow) on
the sidewall.
Tyres fitted op posing the rolling direction
(e.g. when a tyre is changed) should be
refitted as soon as possible. This is the only
way to obtain full benefit from the design
prop erties of the ty re.

disposing of tyres.
Som e brands of tyres have a beaded edge
for alloy w heels, to protect against
damage. If wheel trims are used on steel
wheels with beaded-edge tyres, the
following procedure must be followed:
z Wheel trims and tyres that are approved
by Vauxhall for the respective vehicle
and com ply with all of the relevant wheel
and tyre com bina tion requirements must
be used.
z If the wheel trims and tyres used are not
Vauxhall-approved, the tyres must not
ha ve a beaded edge.

lead to a ccidents and rend er the vehicle
unroadworthy.

could lead to sudden pressure loss and
thereby accidents.
