Brake system
The effectiveness of the brakes is an
important factor for traffic sa fety.
In the interest of effectiveness, do not
brake unnecessarily hard during the first
125 miles (200 km) after new disc brake
pad s hav e been fitted.
Wea r of the brake linings must not exceed
a specified lim it. Reg ular maintenance, as
detailed in the chapter "Service,
Maintenance" on page 202, is therefore of
the utm ost importance for traffic safety.
Have w orn b ra ke p ads replaced by a
workshop. Pads which have been tested
and p assed ensure optimum b rake
performa nc e.
Brake pads w orn to their minimum
thickness may generate a grind ing noise.
It is possible to continue driving. Ha ve your
brak e pa ds replaced as soon a s p ossible.
Seek the assistance of a workshop for
replacing the bra ke p ads.
