Ampera is an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (E-REV) – the first of its kind on
sale in Europe. And it succeeds where pure battery cars are limited, by combining
extended-range with improved performance, reliability and handling.
The 16kWh rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers the Ampera for up to 50 miles*
of cost-effective battery-powered motoring – making it ideal for commuting. For
longer trips, the innovative petrol-powered generator provides the electricity to
power the drive unit, allowing you to drive up to another 310 miles* without having
to recharge or refuel.
