Adjusting Zone Volume and Muting:
· Press the RC-16’s Volume-Up/Down buttons, and release at desired volume level.
Note: This will automatically place the remote in A/V mode.
· Press the RC-16’s Mute button -- the zone volume lowers to the programmed Mute-Volume-Level for the zone. Pressing
Mute again will restore original volume.
· The Lattis Ack light flashes during volume adjust or mute. If the Lattis Nak light flashes, the requested zone is not valid for
this Lattis unit, or the zone is not currently on.
Adjusting Zone Bass/Treble:
· Press the RC-16 Shift button, and then press a Channel-Up/Down button to adjust Bass, or a Volume-Up/Down button to
adjust Treble. Each Shift-button-press adjusts up or down one step (can not press-and-hold for Bass/Treble adjustment)
· The Lattis Ack light flashes as the level is adjusted. If the Lattis Nak light flashes, the requested zone is not valid for this
Lattis unit, or the zone is not currently on.
· You may restore Flat Bass/Treble (both to 0-dB) by pressing Shift-Rew on the RC-16.
Programming IR-Learning Devices with Vaux IR Commands
There are a few things to note when teaching codes from a Vaux RC-16-IR remote, into IR-learning remotes or keypads from other
manufacturers. Each Vaux remote button press results in only a single IR command (never macros of multiple commands). We use a
standard 32-bit, 40-KHz modulated IR command, followed by a button-repeat code as long as the key is held down.
To set the RC-16 remote's zone, you press Zone-x-x, which is the Zone button, followed by two digits (eg: Zone-0-1 for zone 1, or
Zone-1-6 for zone 16). You can verify that the remote is set to the correct zone by aiming it at the switcher, selecting a source, and
then verifying that the correct zone is turning on, or by looking at the messages sent back on the 232 port. You need to learn the same
set of commands for each zone, since the zone number is embedded in the command.
For each zone, you need to learn the commands for selecting (routing) each source. If you have a 16-source LE-1600A or LE-1600V,
you access the upper sources by pressing the Shift button, followed by a source button:
button selects button selects
tuner source 1 shift-tuner source 9
cd source 2 shift-cd source 10
dss source 3 shift-dss source 11
vcr1 source 4 shift-vcr1 source 12
vcr2 source 5 shift-vcr2 source 13
dvd source 6 shift-dvd source 14
tape source 7 shift-tape source 15
aux source 8 shift-aux source 16
The "Zone-Off" command is Shift-On/Off. Normal (unshifted) presses of the On/Off button toggle between two codes: Zone-Off, and
Route-Previous-Source -- so you should not try to learn this unshifted button, just Shift-On/Off. You also need to learn the Volume-
Up and Volume-Down buttons. Optional buttons to learn are:
function button function button
mute-toggle mute mute-on shift-mute
flat eq shift-rew mute-off shift-a/b
bass-up shift-chan-up treble-up shift-vol-up
bass-down shift-chan-down treble-down shift-vol-down
set-initial-volume-to-current shift-ffwd
There are also some other IR setup commands, such as Source-Level-Trim and Zone Min/Max level, but they are not typically used
with a learning device. You can also set the remote to Zone-00 for special route commands -- Zone-0 is all zones, so you can route a
source to all zones (eg: party mode), or use Shift-On/Off for "All-Zones-Off" Also, the remote can be set to Zones 91 to 98 to control
clusters 1 to 8 (resp.).
