Valve hardware is your access to
the wondrous people, places and
things you’ll interact with in VR.
While these worlds are infinite,
thankfully this setup is not.
Let’s get started!

1. INSTALL STEAMVR
Download SteamVR from the website below and install it on your VR-
Ready PC. Create or log into your Steam account before proceeding.
If you’re setting up VR with a computer running SteamOS, skip
directly to step 2.

Locate the Connection Cable
attached to your headset. Plug its
Display Port and USB cables into
your computer.
Plug in the headset’s power cable
using the included power adapter,
or plug directly into the DC Port
on your computer.
Do not unplug cables while
important software is being
installed.

For Room Scale VR, place your
Base Stations at opposite corners
of your play area, pointing toward
its center.
Secure each Base Station using
either a wall-mounted or
standing configuration.
Hang wall-mounted Base Stations
overhead, at least 2m (6.5ft)
above the floor. Angle them
25–35° downward.
For standing-only or seated
setups, place your Base Stations
on any convenient surface in view
of your headset and controllers.
Plug your Bases into an outlet.
For Room Scale VR, you will need at least 2m x 1.5m (or 6.5ft x 5ft)
of free space. Standing-only or seated setups can be achieved in
smaller spaces.
Be sure to clear your Play Area of pets and obstacles.
