CHAPTER 5
OPERATION
This chapter contains information on WMT700 configuration,
operating commands, protocols, and data messages.
Note that some of the operations are conducted in the
configuration mode and others in the measurement mode. For
detailed mode descriptions, see section Measurement and
Configuration Modes on page 47.
Serial Connection to WMT700
To update WMT700 settings through a serial connection, the
following prerequisites are needed:
- PC with a serial port.
- Required cables for a serial connection. For more information,
see section Cables on page 33.
- Any terminal program, such as Tera Term or Windows
®
HyperTerminal.
Communicating with Terminal
Software
To switch WMT700 to the configuration mode using Windows
®
HyperTerminal:
1. Connect a cable between your terminal computer, power
supply, and WMT700.
2. Open the Windows
®
HyperTerminal program.
3. Cancel the new connection.
4. From the File menu, click Properties.
5. Select the correct COM port and click Configure.
