This phone is a CDMA2000 1X digital (800 MHz AMPS/CDMA, 1900 MHz PCS) phone with web browsing capabilities. The CDM-8615 weighs 3.7oz. And the dimensions are 1.83” x 4.48” x 0.97”.

Service Indicator Indicates call is in progress, indicates the phone cannot receive a signal from the system.
HANDSET DESCRIPTION C H 1 GPS Icon Indicates the Location Service of your cellular telephone is disabled/enabled. 1X Phone is in the 1x service area. Silent Displays when Silent is in use during a call. BATTERY USAGE BATTERY INSTALLATION 1 u Place the battery on the back of the handset and slide into place. v Push the battery down until it locks into place. Web Msg This is Web Alert message. Web + Text Msg Phone has new Web Alert Msg and Text Msg.
BATTERY USAGE C H BATTERY CHARGING 1 POWER CONNECTION 1 Plug the AC charger into a standard outlet. 2 Plug the other end of the AC Charger into the bottom of your cellular telephone. The battery must be attached to the cellular telephone. BATTERY USAGE BATTERY TALK TIME C H The operating time is subject to your handset usage and configuration.
BATTERY HANDLING INFORMATION C H 1 DOs l Only use the battery and charger approved by the manufacturer. l Only use the battery for its original purpose. l Try to keep batteries in a temperature between l l l l l 41ºF (5ºC ) and 95ºF (35ºC). If the battery is stored in temperatures above or below the recommended range, give it time to warm up or cool down before using. Completely drain the battery before recharging. It may take one to four days to completely drain.
TURNING THE PHONE ON / OFF TURNING THE PHONE ON ACCESSING THE MENU Your cellular telephone can be customized via the menu. BASIC FUNCTIONS BASIC FUNCTIONS SPEAKER PHONE ANSWERING A CALL The speaker phone feature lets you listen to audio through the speaker and talk without holding the phone. 1 To answer a call, press any key except or C H 1 To activate the speaker phone in idle, answering or calling modes, press and hold . 2 2 The phone returns to normal (speaker phone off) after ending a call or when the phone is turned off and back on. PAUSE FEATURE Pauses are used for automated systems (i.e.
BASIC FUNCTIONS CALLER ID FUNCTION ETIQUETTE Identifies caller by displaying their phone number. If the caller’s name and number are already stored in your phonebook, they both will appear. C H BASIC FUNCTIONS Mutes key tones and activates the vibration mode to alert you of an incoming call or message. 1 To turn etiquette mode on/off, press and hold The caller ID is stored in the call history.
DURING A CALL To display menu options during a call, press DURING A CALL [MENU]. MUTE (UNMUTE) The caller cannot hear you or any sounds from your side but you can still hear them. MAKING AN EMERGENCY CALL This 911 feature puts the phone in the Emergency Call Mode when you dial the preprogrammed emergency number, 911. It also operates in the lock mode and out of the service area. 911 IN LOCK MODE C H 2 The 911 call service is available even in the lock mode. 1 Enter “911” then press . 2 The call connects. Chapter 3 MEMORY FUNCTION 3 The phone exits the Lock Mode for 5 minutes. l When the call ends, the phone returns to the Lock Mode.
STORING A PHONE NUMBER The phonebook stores up to 300 entries. 1 Enter phone number then press . 2 Choose “New Entry” or “Existing Entry”. Press [OK] to select. 3 The Phone # will appear above a list of icons. C H . 3 ENTERING LETTERS, NUMBERS & SYMBOLS The input mode (Alpha editor) will be automatically activated when necessary to enter letters and numbers. As shown below, there are 4 available modes ; Standard input mode (Abc), T9 input mode (T9Word), Numeric mode (NUM), and Symbol mode (Symbols).
ENTERING LETTERS, NUMBERS & SYMBOLS STANDARD INPUT MODE T9 INPUT MODE Use the digit keys to enter letters, numbers and characters. The T9 input mode incorporates a built-in-dictionary to determine a word based on the entered characters. MY ACCOUNT CALL HISTORY You can manage your Virgin Mobile account from your phone. The basic tasks are summarized below. For more information about your Virgin Mobile account, visit virgin.com/mobile. CHECKING YOUR ACCOUNT BALANCE You can check the amount of money remaining in your Virgin Mobile account right from your phone. In idle mode, you can access call history by pressing [MENU] . ALL CALLS Displays information about the 60 most recent incoming, outgoing or missed calls.

Erases individual Call History entries. ALL CALLS 1 To see a list of the 20 most recently missed calls, press [MENU] or . If the number is already stored in your phonebook, only the name appears. If the number is not stored, only the phone number appears. 2 To view missed call, use the navigation keys to select then press C H .
CALL HISTORY CALL HISTORY MISSED CALLS 1 Press AIR TIME [MENU] or . 2 You will see a message on the display (Erase Missed calls?). 3 Select [YES] or [NO]. Select “Yes” to erase all missed calls from your Call History list. Checks the usage time and manages your calls within the limit you set, and when you check usage time the message “Not intended for billing purposes” appears for 5 seconds. LAST CALL Displays usage time of last call. 1 Press [MENU] or .
PHONEBOOK PHONEBOOK Stores up to 300 entries, each of which can be assigned to a group. Entries can be retrieved by name or group. NEW ENTRY Adds a new entry. FIND Retrieves an entry by name and calls by simply pressing [FIND]. You can review all the entries stored in your phonebook list or quickly find an entry by entering a name or its character string. 1 Press [MENU] [MENU] . PHONEBOOK PHONEBOOK SPEED DIAL#’S GROUP In idle mode, calls can be placed to numbers stored in speed dial by pressing & holding the location number on the key pad. Existing groups include Family, Friends, Work, Etc. and All. A maximum of seven groups is allowed. ADD NEW GROUP 1 Press [MENU] .
PHONEBOOK Your cellular telephone provides a unique feature -My Stuff- that enables you to download games, ringtones, images, applications and more from your network to your mobile phone. Please contact your service provider for the availability of these services. By using the Roaming menu option, you can determine which signals your cellular telephone accepts. SETTINGS SETTINGS LOCATION SECURITY Your cellular telephone is equipped with a Location feature for use in connection with location-based services that may be available in the future. The Location feature allows the network to detect your position. Turning Location off will hide your location from everyone except 911. Prevents unauthorized use of your cellular telephone. The following settings can be restricted: LOCK PHONE Prevents the phone from being used without entering the password first.
SETTINGS SPECIAL #’S CALL HISTORY Stores 3 phone numbers that can be called even in the lock mode. 1 Press [MENU] then enter “Password”. 2 Press then select a location with the Navigation Key. 3 Press press SETTINGS [SET] and input a phone number, again to save. Blocks access to call history. 1 Press [MENU] then enter “Password”. 2 Press then select “Allow” or “Restrict” with the Navigation Key then press [OK]. l Allow: Allow access to call history.
SETTINGS ERASE PBOOK RESET PHONE To erase all the names and phone numbers in your internal Phonebook: Resetting the phone restores all the factory defaults, including the ringer types and display settings. The internal Phonebook, Call History, Scheduler, and Messaging are not affected. 1 Press [MENU] 2 Press . then enter “Password”. 3 Read the message (Erase Phonebook?) then press [YES] or [NO]. SETTINGS SETTINGS AIRPLANE MODE OTHERS When your cellular telephone is in Airplane Mode, it cannot send or receive any calls or access online information. In this mode you may still use the phone’s other features such as Games and Voice Memos. To set your cellular telephone to Airplane Mode: 1 Press [MENU] [OK]. l Turn on airplane mode will prevent any outgoing and Incoming calls as well as any online access. l You can make emergency calls regardless of airplane mode setting.
SETTINGS SETTINGS AUTO ANSWER LANGUAGE To answer calls when your cellular telephone is connected to an optional hands-free car kit or headset: Selects the language in which letters are displayed on screen. 1 Press [MENU] . 2 Select “Hands Free Kit” or “Headset” with the Navigation Key. 3 Select one of the following options then press [OK]. Off / 5 Secs / 10 Secs / 18 Secs C H 4 This function will not be active when you select Vibrate, Silence All or Etiquette as a ringer mode.

MEMO Chapter 5 VOICE TOOLS C H 4 This chapter addresses Voice Tools, an advanced feature that allows you to place calls using your voice. With Voice Memo (VM) you can record voice messages and set the Answering Machine.
VOICE RECOGNITION MODE Voice Recognition (VR) enables you to place calls using your voice and to record voice memos. 1 Press and hold until your cellular telephone turns to Voice Recognition mode. If no recorded voice dial, “No entries recorded” message will be displayed. (Refer to page 92 for how to set one up.) 2 “Please say the name after the prompt tone” will be displayed and you will hear “Name please”.
VOICE TOOLS MENU VOICE TOOLS MENU VOICE DIAL TRAIN WORDS Voice Dial allows you to call a person by simply saying their name. To access Voice Dial: 1 Press [MENU] Train allows you to use Control words to make a call without using the keypad. WHEN A NEW MESSAGE ARRIVES SEND TEXT To send a new text message: 1 The following display appears when a new message arrives. 1 Press [MENU] or . 2 Under “Send To”, input the phone number then press 2 To display the message, press [READ]. .
