3.1.1 Introduction to the Entry Display

3.1.2 Entry Method
z In Upper/Lower case English letter entry mode, when pressing keys 2-9, the
current letter and letter combination that can be entered with the key is
displayed on the right side of the entry area. To enter the second letter on a
key, you must press the key twice (in rapid succession). To enter the third
letter on a key, you must press the key three times. For example, to enter the
letter “o”, you must rapidly press the【6】key three times. When the key is
pressed for the first time, “mno6” is displayed on the right side of the entry
area and “m” is selected. When the key is pressed for the third time, “mno6”
is still displayed on the right side of the entry area; however, “o” is selected.
Subsequently, the letter “o” is displayed in the text display area. The letter
combination in the entry area disappears.
z To enter different letters on the same key, after the previous letter is entered,
wait until the letter combination in the entry area disappears, then press this
key again to enter the next letter.
z In upper/lower case English letter entry modes, pressing the 0 key can input a
space.

3.1.3 Upper/lower case English letter Entry Mode
z In the text entry display, press the 【#】key to alternate between upper/lower
case English letter entry modes.
z In the English letter entry mode, the letter entered is displayed in the text
display area.
