11. Data Communication
11.1 Data Communication Procedure (Needs Network Support)
UT618 phone comes with a feature of 64K wireless data communication. It can be
connected with a USB Data Cable (to be purchased separately) to a computer to
transmit data wirelessly at a speed of 64K or 32K. Please refer to USB Data Cable User
Guide for more instruction.
1. Open the cover of the phone’s data communication port (printed “DATA” on
it).
2. Plug the DDI plug of the USB Data Cable into the phone’s data transmission
port.
3. Plug the USB plug of the USB Data Cable into a PC USB connector. Please
refer to the USB Data Cable User Guide on how to install the driver, set the
properties and dial.
4. Start dial-up connection. The current connection speed will be displayed on the
phone (32K or 64K BE) as well as the number it dials. The connection time will
be displayed if the computer connects to the Internet successfully.
5. When the USB Data Cable is disconnected from the phone, “Data Comm
OFF” will be displayed on the phone’s screen and the phone will beep to notify
the user. When the USB Data Cable is reconnected, the phone will beep and
display “Data Comm OK” on the screen.
6. Press
to terminate the connection, “End Comm” will be displayed on
the phone’s screen.

• When you disconnect the USB Data Cable from the phone, press the tab of
the USB Data Cable’s plug with your thumb and index finger and pull the
plug out.
