PUMP PRIMING & STARTUP (CONTINUED)
FREEZING
CAUTION: Drain the entire system if there is
danger of freezing. A drain plug is provided at the
bottom of the pump case for this purpose. Remove
drain plug then loosen air relief plug. (Fig 47).

IMPORTANT: If the pump hums instead of
pumping or turns off repeatedly, shut pump off
immediately.
Check voltage. Pump is wired to run on 230V. If the
pump cuts out or stops, you may be attempting to
connect to 115V. See Motor Voltage Change instructions
to change motor voltage to 115V.
IMPORTANT: If the pump fails to prime within five
minutes:
1. Turn power off at the breaker box.
2. Check all pipe connections for leaks. All connections
must be water and air tight in order for pump to
operate.
3. Check suction pipe for any sagging. Support suction
pipe in a straight line to the pump. (Fig. 46)
4. Watch for leaks or a milky color in the discharged
water, which indicates an air leak. Re-prime if
necessary, following steps 1 through 5 under the
PRIMING section.
5. Reset breaker at the breaker box.
