7 • System Options
System Options Overview
System options allow you to customize the machine settings for the
way you run your mail and add security to those features that are
sensitive to your organization. Because of the many options avail-
able, the options are categorized into "Basic" and "Advanced".
Basic options include:
• Advancing the printed date for the meter stamp
• Setting the machine to the current (today's) date
• Adjusting the Contrast (of the display)
• Turning Features On or Off (if installed on machine)
• Setting Date, Time, and Timeouts
• Setting Postage Values (Funds Warnings)
• Setting Lock Code and Passwords
• Scale Options (accessed from the Home screen)
• Checking and Clearing the Batch Count (see Chapter 3, Running
Mail)
• Connecting to Data Center settings (see Chapter 6- Adding Post-
age/Connecting to Data Center)
Most of the basic system options are accessed by pressing Options
and selecting your choice from the menu as shown below.
