There are 4 I-modem DIP Switches. See Figure 4 below.

Switch Function
1 Power-on/Reset Load Configuration Defaults
OFF Load from nonvolatile memory (NVRAM)
ON Load factory settings from read only memory
(ROM)
2 AT Command Set Recognition
OFF Command recognition disabled (Dumb mode).
Not a valid setting when the I-modems are used
with NETServer.
ON Enabledcommand set recognized (Smart mode)
3-4 Reserved
These switches are reserved for use by U.S. Robotics. Please do
not change their settings.
