7 Install Uponor Smatrix Wave relay
module
7.1 Placement of relay module
Use the following guidelines when positioning the relay module:
• Position the relay module close to the remote component, just
preferably above if possible (if water can drip from the
component). Check the position of the 115 V AC power outlet, or
if required by local regulations, the junction box.
• Check that the relay module is protected from running or dripping
water.
• Check that the cover of the relay module can be easily removed.
• Check that connectors and switches are easily accessible.
7.2 Attach relay module to the
wall
162 mm
SI0000019
Attach the relay module to the wall using screws and wall plugs.
7.3 Connect output to relay
module
The relay module adds two extra output relays to the room controller
increasing the total amount of room controller output relays to four.
This presents an option to control remote components (within radio
range) otherwise wired to the room controller and/or up to four
components by the same room controller.
If more than one room controller is available in the system, one relay
module per room controller can be used. The function is set in
Installer settings during setup (requires a communication module).
Caution!
Changing status of the pump management and/or
cooling allowed (in the Uponor Smatrix app, requires
communication module) will set all relays to Not
configured. Which will have to be configured again.
Note
In systems with multiple room controllers (master/sub
configuration), all relays are initially set to Not
configured. Which will have to be configured during
installation.
Note
The relay module cannot supply power for the output.
Note
The relay module uses a dry contact connection on the
terminal block to control the output.
Note
The electrical circuits of the output must be protected by
a circuit breaker with a maximum rating of 8 A.
Note
See the relevant component supplier documentation and
Uponor wiring diagram before connecting the
component.
The relay module, registered to the master room controller, can be
set to one of the following combinations. A communication module is
required to change the relay configuration from default values.
