Do the new sizes meet the same codes,
standards and listings as Uponor’s current
pipe and fitting offering?
Yes, the new 2½" and 3" ProPEX fittings as well as the
larger-dimension Uponor AquaPEX and Wirsbo hePEX
pipe carry the same listings as Uponor’s current offering
of pipe and fittings.
Do the new sizes have the same temperature
and pressure ratings as the current offering?
Yes, the new 2½" and 3" offering carries the same
temperature and pressure ratings as the current pipe
and fittings.
Will the new offering include lead-free (LF) brass
transition fittings?
While a majority of the offering will be EP, Uponor will
offer the following four transition fittings in 2½" and
3" sizes:
Copper stub with a factory-soldered LF brass sweat
adapter that will allow for easy transitions to sweat,
press and roll groove
LF brass flange transition
LF brass sweat adapter
Male threaded adapter
What is included with the flange kit?
Uponor offers a 2½" and a 3" ProPEX LF Brass Flange
Adapter Kit. Both kits include a ProPEX adapter, a
flange adapter and four nuts and bolts. The flanges
carry a 150-lb. rating.
Is there any difference when making a ProPEX
connection with the larger-diameter fittings?
No, the ProPEX connection is made in the exact same
manner. For the larger-diameter fittings, Milwaukee®
Tool is introducing its new M18™ FORCELOGIC™
ProPEX Expansion Tool for 2", 2½" and 3" ProPEX
connections.

Expansion Tool have autorotation?
Yes, the Milwaukee M18 FORCELOGIC ProPEX
Expansion Tool has autorotation to ensure a proper
ProPEX connection for 2", 2½" and 3" sizes.
Are 2½" and 3" Uponor PEX pipe and
ProPEX fittings approved for high-rise
residential construction?
Yes, Uponor PEX pipe and ProPEX fittings up to 3"
carry a maximum pressure rating of 160psi (11 bar)
at 73°F (22.8°C) and are approved for use in high-
rise applications where fire-resistive construction is
required. Uponor PEX pipe and ProPEX fittings are
listed to ASTM E119, ASTM E814, CAN/ULC S101
and CAN/ULC S115.
Can 2½" and 3" Uponor PEX pipe and ProPEX
fittings be used in a return-air plenum?
Yes, Uponor PEX pipe and ProPEX fittings up to 3"
are approved in return-air plenums when installed per
Uponor’s ASTM E84 and CAN/ULC S102.2 listings using
approved ½”-thick, 25/50-rated insulation. Note that
when installing per ASTM E84, Uponor’s PEX-a Pipe
Support may be used in lieu of the insulation.
What sizes are available for Uponor PEX-a Pipe
Support?
Uponor PEX-a Pipe Support is available in 9-ft. lengths
for ½" through 3½" PEX pipe sizes. The support is
appropriate for use with both Uponor AquaPEX and
Wirsbo hePEX pipe in domestic water, hydronic heating
and chilled-water cooling applications.
