DuringL2forwarding,theswitchchecksitsMACaddresstablefor
thedestinationMACaddressofthereceivedframe,andthenfor-
warddatatothecorrespondingport.
MACAddressClassification
ZXR105900/5200MACaddressisdividedintothefollowingtypes:
1.DynamicMACaddress
DynamicMACaddressesarelearnedbytheswitchfromdata
framesitreceives,andaredeletedwhentheagingtimeisdue.
Whenthedeviceconnectstoanotherportontheswitch,the
correspondingmappingrelationshipbetweentheMACaddtess
andportnumberalsochangesintheMACaddresstable.Dy-
namicMACaddressesarelostwhentheswitchispoweredoff
andmustbelearnedagainwhentheswitchisrebooted.
2.StaticMACaddress
StaticMACaddressesareconguredmanuallyandwillnever
age.ThemappingrelationshipbetweenMACaddressandport
numberintheMACaddresstableremainsunchangeddespite
ofchangesoftheconnectingportbetweenswitchanddevice.
StaticMACaddressesarealsolostwhentheswitchispowered
offandmustbeconguredagainwhentheswitchisrebooted.
3.PermanentMACaddress
PermanentMACaddressesarealsoconguredmanually.The
mappingrelationshipbetweenMACaddressandportnumberin
theMACaddresstableremainsunchangeddespiteofchanges
oftheconnectingportbetweenswitchanddevice.Permanent
MACaddresseswillnotdisappearwhentheswitchispowered
off.
MACAddressTableEstablishment
andDeletion
TheMACaddresstableofaswitchisnullinitially.Itiscreatedfor
fastforwarding.AsthesizeoftheMACaddresstableislimitedand
networkdevicechangesarefrequent,invalidMACaddresstable
entriesshouldbedeletedfromtheswitchintime.
