IntheVPNmodeofQinQ,iftheVPNusersindifferentlocations

entlytransmittheselayer2protocolpackets.Thesepacketscan’t
betransparentlytransmitted,L2PTisusedtotransparentlytrans-
mitclientnetworklayer2protocolpacketinQinQVPNnetwork
environment.
ThefullnameofL2PTislayer2protocoltunnel,whichisalayer
2protocoltunneltechnology.Theprincipleisthatthereceiving
layer2protocolpacketisencapsulatedbyamulticastaddresson
tunnledportofedgeswitch,andthentheencapsulatedpacketis
broadcastinvlan,thesepacketsarede-encapsulatedontheport
ofremoteswitchthatenablestunneled.Intheend,transparent
transmissionisimplemented.Layer2protocolpacket(STP),on
theportthatdoesn’tenableL2PT ,willnotbetransmittedinthe
providernetwork,whichwillcausethattheclientnetworkforms
severalunconnectedstpdomainbasedonareaborderandthe
clientVPNnetworkcan’trunauniformSTPtopology.L2PTcan
helpusertomeettherequirementbytransparentlytransmitting
STPBPDUpacketinVPN.
