LLDPisnotcongurationprotocolofremotesystemorsignalcon-
trolprotocolbetweenports.LLDPcandiscovertheadjacentde-
viceslayer2congurationisnotsame,butitdoesn’tprovide
mechanismtosolvetheproblem,itonlyreportsthisproblemto
upperlayermanagementdevice.
Inaword,LLDPisakindofneighborndingprotocol.Itdenesa
standardforthenetworkdevicesintheEthernetsuchasswitch,
routerandwirelesslanaccesspoint.Itcanannounceitsexistence
toothernodesinthenetworkandsavediscoveryinformationof
everyneighbordevice.Forexample,deviceconguration,device
IDandotherinformationcanbeannouncedbythisprotocol
LLDPdenesacommonannouncementinformationset,atrans-
missionannouncementprotocolandakindofwaytosavethe
receivingannouncementinformation.Thedevicethatneedtoan-
nounceitsinformationcanputmultiplepiecesofannouncement
informationintooneLLDPDULinkLayerDiscoveryProtocolData
Unittotransmit.ThisLLDPDUcontainsastingofvariablelength
shortmessageunits,whichiscalledT ypeLengthValue(TLV).The
descriptionisasfollows:
