Disinfection
If the feed water has a high content of micro-organisms,
the water might develop an odour if the water purifier is
not used for an extended period of time (1 week). It is
then necessary to disinfect it. After the disinfection the
filter has to be changed.
The disinfectant, sodium hypochlorite (concentration
approx. 3.5%, odourless), can be purchased from
supermarkets or chemists.
The disinfectant must be kept out of reach
of children! Wash your hands after using it.
1. Check that the water purifier is in standby
mode.
2. Press the service button, using a pen, until
the service light comes on. Release the button.
The light on the faucet now flashes rapidly
for 15 seconds. This prevents flushing from
taking place during disinfection.
3. Disconnect the filter container in accordance
with «Replacing the filter», points 2 - 5.
Remove the filter and discard it (should not
be saved).
4. Fill the container with 7 dl of lukewarm water
and pour in 1/4 dl of disinfectant. See fig. C.
5. Screw the filled container in place.
6. Start the water purifier and produce pure
water for 30 seconds.
7. While production is in progress, pull out
the plug as shown in fig. D. Allow the water
purifier to stand for around 30 minutes.
8. Disconnect the container and insert a new
filter into it, in accordance with «Replacing
the filter», points 7 - 8.
9. Connect the plug.
10. Close the front cover.
11. Flush the water purifier in accordance with
«Flushing».
Do not use the purified water until flushing
is complete.
The disinfection process is now finished. The water
purifier is ready to be used.
