Installation ª During normal operation, the condenser and compressor at the back of the appliance heat up considerably. For safety reasons, minimum ventilation must be as shown in the relevant Figure. Attention: keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction. ª If the appliance is transported horizontally, it is possible that the oil contained in the compressor flows in the refrigerant circuit.

INSTALLATION If this appliance featuring magnetic door seals is to replace an older appliance having a spring lock (latch) on the door or lid, be sure to make that spring lock unusable before you discard the old appliance. This will prevent it from becoming a death-trap for a child. Positioning The appliance should be installed well away from sources of heat such as radiators, boilers, direct sunlight etc.

Carefully lean the appliance on its back and remove the plastic insert (Fig. 3). Remove the two screws which fix the lower hinge to the door.
Fitting a decorative door panel Fig. 5 Important: The components needed to fit the decorative panel have been pre-fitted on the appliance. The brackets are secured to the panel by means of the 7 Ø 3.5x13 screws supplied. Before starting to fit the panel, remove the large top bracket by unscrewing the screws and adjusting pins pre-fitted on the appliance door. The small bottom bracket need not be removed. Place the appliance in the position where it is to be built in (Fig. 5).
Once the top of the panel has been correctly positioned, fix it through the holes in the bottom bracket, without tightening the screws (Fig. 9). Fig. 9 D471 Check the position again by slackening the screws and pins then, once the best position has been obtained, fully tighten all the fixings. Cover the visible part of the top bracket on the panel with plastic cover (D), inserting it in the locations provided in the bracket. Fig. 10 D D472 Fig.
If the base plate is between 100 and 135 mm high, cut it as shown in Fig. 14 and mount as described above. If the base plate is between 135 and 170 mm high, cut it as shown in Fig. 12. If the base plate is between 150 and 185 mm high, cut it as shown in Fig. 14.
USE GB The freezer is marked with the symbol, which indicates that it is suitable for freezing fresh food and for long-term storage of frozen and deep-frozen foods.
Fast freezing For fast freezing, operate switch (A). never put hot foods or liquids in the freezer and take care not to fill containers up to the brim if they are covered with a lid. Freezing fresh foods It is a good idea to mark the packs or the special cards (if supplied) with the date on which freezing started so that you can keep a check on storage periods.
Thawing Before being used, deep-frozen and frozen food can be thawed out either in the refrigerator or at room temperature, depending on the time available for this operation. Small pieces of food can be cooked straight from the freezer; in this case, however, the cooking time will be marginally longer. Ice cube trays The appliance includes one or more trays for producing ice cubes. These trays should be filled with drinking water and repositioned inside the compartment.
MAINTENANCE Unplug the appliance before carrying out any maintenance operation.
