4.4.2.2 Setting the character repeat
The details provided below will explain how to set the character repetition and the associated
delay for the keyboard or screen keyboard.
Requirement
The Control Panel is open.
Procedure
Proceed as follows:
1. Open the "Keyboard Properties" dialog with the Keyboard icon.
2. If you want to enable character repetition, select the "Enable character repeat" check box.
3. Change the delay time under "Repeat delay" if needed.
4. Change the repetition rate under "Repeat rate" if needed.
5. Check the settings under "Tap here...":
– If you use a touch HMI device, touch the test field.
The screen keyboard opens.
– If you use a key HMI device, select the test field.
– Press an alphanumeric key and keep the key pressed down.
– Check the implementation of the character repetition and the rate of the character
repetition in the test field.
– If necessary, correct the settings and repeat the test.
6. Confirm your entries with "OK".
Result
The character repetition and delay are set.
