3.3 Connecting the device
3.3.1 Notes on connection
Requirement
● The HMI device must be mounted according to the specifications of these operating
instructions.
● Always use shielded standard cables for the data cable.

Connection sequence
Connect the HMI device in the following sequence:
1. Equipotential bonding
2. Power supply
Perform a power-up test to ensure the power supply is connected with the correct
polarity.
3. PLC
4. Configuring PC as necessary
5. I/Os as necessary
NOTICE
Damage to the HMI device
If you do not keep to the connection sequence you could damage the HMI device.
Ensure you connect the HMI device in the sequence stipulated above.
Disconnect the HMI device by completing the above steps in reverse order.
Connecting the cables
When connecting the cables, ensure that the contact pins are not bent. Secure the cable
connectors by screwing the connector onto the socket. Provide adequate strain relief for the
connecting cables.
