4.4.10 Synchronizing the time via the time server
Introduction
To obtain the time of the HMI device from a time server, you can specify up to four different
time servers. The time is synchronized via the "Network Time Protocol" (NTP). You
additionally specify the synchronization cycle for the time. The synchronization cycle applies
to all configured time servers.
You can separately test the availability of each time server.
Requirement
● The Control Panel is open.
● HMI device and time servers are located in a network.
Procedure
Proceed as follows:
1. Open the "Profinet" dialog with the PROFINET IO icon.
2. Open the "NTP" tab.
3. Select "Automatically synchronize with a time server".
4. Under "Update rate" enter the number of seconds after which HMI device synchronizes
the time.
