Defrosting
It is important to defrost and clean the freezer when 1/4 to 1/2 inch of frost has
a_ated. Frostmay tend to a_ate faster cn the upper part of the freezer
due to warm, moist air entering the freezer when the door is opened. Remove food
and leavethe door open when defrosting the freezer.
• Onuprightmodelswithadefrost drain (Figurei), removethedrainplugc_lthe
J_ide floorofthefreezerbyLullinZstrai_qtcut.To_ theexternaldr_untube
on models with a base panel, first remove the two screws ftom the base panel.
Locatethe draintubenear the ]eftcenter tn%derthe freezer. Placea shallcwpan
t_lcler the drain tuh_. Defrost w_ter will drain cut. <beck parl occmsic/]911y sow_ter
does not overflow. Replace the drain plug when defrosting and cleaning are
ccnpleted. If the drain is left open, warm air may enter the freezer.

(Figure2 ) .A one half inchgarden hose adapter can be used to drain the freezer
directlyintoaflcordrain(Rigure3) .IfycurmodelisnotequiLpedwlthanadapter,

freezer,and_ulloff theoutsidedefrc_t drainplug (Figure4cn follcwlngpage).
Defrost_ter will drainout. _eck pe_loccasi_nlly sowater doesnot overflow.
Replace the drainplugs when defrosting is co_oleted.
